How many of you do not use finger inserts, or thumb. Personally I don't use either

I didn't on my first few balls but switched over to the grips to help put extra revs on the ball without killing my fingers and recently went to thumb slugs because they keep my thumb from swelling or getting calisis as bad.

After ripping my fingers apart years ago I stopped using inserts. I do use thumb slugs.

I dont use either. Do you really think you get more revs on the ball with them? I thought I got more revs with out them, or the same at least. The best thing for me is the grip never changes its always the same. Plus its cheaper

Well i use the ones that are flat on the finger tips and it does help me with revs. I had them without before and its just to uncomfortable to try and put revs on the ball. It usually made my fingers swell up and I couldn't stick them in the ball just about so maybe it just seems like it helps but really just makes my fingers not hurt so bad and I can increase my revs due to not being in pain?? lol I dont' know.

In my youth I used only grips, but as i got older I changed to a slug in the thumb as well.  Mine is purely for a comfort factor, I don't know how many of my balls would come back with giant chips taken out of the thumb and it was uncomfortable and never the same.  I have never had that problem with grips or slugs.

I also hardly ever change my grips.  I know of guys who change them every 2 months or so, some at the start of the season.  I have a ball that I still use when the shot breaks down and they have the same grips in them from 1998 when I got the ball.

I use ViseGrips (with the flat side up) in the fingers and a thumb insert, with Ron C's Magic Carpet in the thumb hole in all my balls. All feel exactly the same and continue to work when my fingers/thumb swell up.

I've tried no inserts in an old Sonic Boom, didn't really like the feeling with out them. It felt as if I was losing the ball at the bottom, very uncomfortable feeling, so I stuck with inserts and Vice thumb sleeve.
