Im no lane guru but I am in the exact same boat. Running monthly sixer trying to keep shot competitive. Our lanes are synthetics but I cannot tell you the brand name. Theyve been in since the late 80's. This was the first house to get them in our area. 2nd arrow is so worn you can still see the wear after the machine has run.
Anyways weve been playing with shots and found something interesting. Their machine is an early Phoenix machine that, as it turns out, cannot run kegel patterns. Mike Purdy at Kegel sent me a link to some KOSI patterns but this machine cant run those without a 500.00 upgrade and an oil bar that wipes the roller for more even distribution
Reading the user manual, the 7 preloaded programs are very low loads compared to todays patterns, with not much length. However another common theme is that the reverse run, on any of them, starts around 15-18ft and stops at 5-7ft for buff. Dead Mans Curve starts the reverse oil at 32ft
Id recommend confirming the machine, get the user manual from Kegel and compare the preloaded to the Kegel patterns. You may find, like I did, that the house mechanic cannot put it down. Either because of machine or user definiencies.
