I was curious on the OP if he meant if he did those exercises it hurt his bowling or if doing them hurt his body physically.
I love to do lowerback exersises, step up exercises, hamstring, and bowling specific positions, like getting in my stance and pushing the front knee forward in sets of 10 to 20, sets 2. Never two days in a row.
I don't do it that often but it really helps when I do it.
