Here is the setup.
Our Team swept last night. first time in a long time
First game we won by a lot. I didn't bowl well (30 pins under), but rest of team did great for the win.
The other team made a push in the final frame of the 2nd game. Their total pins were in the plus column as they finished the tenth frame. Their anchor goes up and throws a strike, eight, spare. Seemed confident of the win. Our 3rd and 4th bowlers finish. Our total score is getting closer but still was displayed as a minus. Our anchor gets up (working on a double) and throws strike, 9, spare for the win. Won game by 4.
The anchor on their team was shocked. The look on his face was priceless. So we go on to 3rd game. By the seventh frame it looks like they are going to pass, but we pull it together as team. We start matching them strike for strike. Their anchor was not too happy about us keeping up with them. Instead of getting in the spirit of competition and having a game go down to the wire. He is displaying disbelief and we are the luckiest team on the earth. So he starts shaking his head on every strike we throw.
I finally contribute to the team with a Strike on first and second ball in tenth. Second ball went right of my target. I knew it, so he makes the comment "WOW that was 3 boards right!" Like I was lucky to get that break and shouldn't have received the strike. I would agree with that statement, however he and his team had thrown a lot of sloppy strikes all night.
I turned around and stated "At least they were not brooklyns", in reference to his double early in the game that were both brooklyns. No comment. Rest of my team finished strong to take the third game. Again he is acting like we got lucky breaks, yet he forgets all the bad shots that his team made that were strikes.
I swear that the THS is worst thing to ever happen to bowling. In my opinion, every year, there more guys who think they deserve the strikes they get and everyone else against them gets lucky.
