I went to this bowling center I had never been to before. Upon entering, I saw a long line of people waiting at the counter so I joined at the end of the line. When I finally got to the front, I asked for a lane and if they had any special rates. I was told they had the summer practice special going on, 3 games for $25, so I opened up my wallet and gave them $25.
When I got to my lane, I put on my bowling shoes and as I stood on the approach ready to take a test slide, I noticed that the approach boards had gaps in them and were not really flat, kind of wavy or buckled.
When I finished my test slide at the end of the approach, I looked down the lanes to check the oil. There was none, zero oil. The boards were dark and near the track area, they were black. Like the approach, the boards were broken with small gaps and buckled-looking. I did not see any pins on the deck so I pressed the reset button but it did not work.
I walked back to the scorer and noticed a sign on it that read 'No Pins For Practice Bowling, Only For Leagues'.
Then I woke up in a cold sweat.
