What ia a good bowling ball to consider when wanting to play down and in. Just something up the boards. Thanks for ideas

I just drilled up a BTU and a BTU Pearl. I normally throw my Fanatic, blue pearl,  and wanted something to go to when the Fanatic, started hooking to strong off spot. I highly polished the BTU and BTU Pearl and they are a great combo when lanes start hooking and you still want to go down and in and stay in the same area as the Fanatic. Im happy with the 2 and allows me to play THS up the boards. Only issue is carry but as long as you get "some" belly in the heads and allow them to roll, you should be fine. The first BTU solid i had, i kept at box and hated it. So i highly polished this one and absolutely love it.

Ball will only do what your release dictates.  If you can stay behind the ball and not create to much axis rotation (side roll) you can use a lot if different balls depending on the oil pattern. 

For me right now, that ball is the TRACK ULTRA Heat. IMO, It needs to have some friction to be effective, but it has been really good for me so far..

The Magnitude .035 pearl would be my first choice, especially if there is friction.  Drilled mine pin down and it's very good playing straight, with a controlled arc to the pins.

There are several others that have been great, but with a little more "pop" on the back such the Black Quantum, Edge Pearl, Vintage Inferno, and the newer Tenacity (much stronger late).  Good luck.

I have tried them ALL through trial and error and hands down, the very best is the Spare+ from Track. It is the only polyester ball that I found that has a weight block other than a pancake.

Black Widow spare also has a weight block and not just any but the gas mask so if had to guess would say its a bit stronger even (slightly bigger diff but may not be noticeable).  Love my Purple Sumo (super soft with an enormous core) also but not easy to find these days.
