Strongest hooking ball suggestions??
« on: November 08, 2010, 05:12:58 AM »
Looking for any suggestions as to what ball I should purchase next.  I have just recently gotten serious into league bowling and am looking for new equipment to raise the level of my game.  I currently am averaging 208 and would like to raise that by a minimum of 10 pins.  I've used a Brunswick inferno for many years and am looking for a much stronger hooking ball to throw on a heavy oil THS, because my Inferno just isn't getting the job done anymore.

I'm right handed and have my Inferno drilled with the pin above my ring finger.  I'm most comfortable throwing the ball fairly fast with a high rev rate.  I typically stand in between the first dot and second dot from the left for my approach and throw out to anywhere from about the 8 board to the 5 board from the right depending on lane conditions, but would like to move my feet left and throw out to at least the 5 board and flirt with the gutter more.

I recently purchased a Lane #1 Big Curve, supposed to be an extremely strong hooking ball, drilled it the same as my Inferno and am very disappointed with it.  My inferno that is used up and has little life left in it moves a lot more than the Big Curve does and I can't get the Big Curve to come back up into the pocket to save my life.  Have used it for 3 weeks in league now and am ready to toss it in the dumpseter.  Open to any suggestions, don't want to blindly purchase another ball that won't perform for me.  Thank you!
