I am the secretary of a big money league in my area, and had a league member ask me what we do about Loose Racks. After the initial giggle and the improper thoughts in my head, I told him I had never heard of that, could he please explain it to me. He told me that he slammed the pocket and everyone on his lanes agreed that it should have been a strike but he left the 7-9 split, and what is the policy on a loose rack.
Seemed to me that he wanted to get a retry or a mulligan. Told him that if before he threw the ball if he saw a pin offset he could rerack it, but once it is thrown, it is thrown, and you take the result. He didn't look very happy, but oh well, that's the way it is in a USBC league. Imagine the 300 and 900 that would be thrown!
After telling the G.M of the bowling alley and he stopped laughing, he asked who it was, I pointed him out and he told me that he has a PBA card. Not to say that having a PBA card makes you all knowing or something, but the type of question that was asked I would not expect from a bowler with a PBA card.
Anyone ever had a similar experience?
