Ball Prices

As ask a pro shop guy why a lighter ball costs the same as a heavier ball, he said I'm paying for the technology, not the weight, but should the lighter ball be cheaper.

Why?
The design is most often not different from heavier balls, the number and type of components are the same, and the lightter ball actually needs more manipulation of the core density and the filler density to make the ball work correctly. Actually the lighter ball should be more expensive, as long as it uses the same core design.

When the lighter ball (10 - 12) uses a pancake core, it is usually cheaper than the heavier ball (13-16 lbs.).
