Ball Pricing
« on: November 16, 2010, 01:28:41 AM »
Hi,

I have been trying to sell some older equipment that I have laying around on ebay.  I have someone who is willing to buy some stuff outside of eBay.  I just am a little unsure of what a fair price is for discontinued equipment.  I have the following 4 balls (15 lb):  Ebonite Infinite One, Ebonite Playmaker, Original Hammer Black Widow, and a Columbia Momentum Swing.  Any guesses on what you think these balls might sell for on ebay?  If I had to guess I would say roughly $400-$550, but it's really hard to say.  I think with Christmas coming, things usually sell for more, just because more people are shopping for stuff.  But with hard to find items, like the Original Black Widow, the ebay price could be close to $150-$200.  I just sold a New GameBreaker for $185 and an Angular One for $159.   Any information (opinions) would be greatly appreciated.  I know that from my experience, stuff on eBay regularly sells for more than it down on BallReviews.  I just think it's a larger audience to choose from.

thanks in advance,

Drew

Is this stuff NIB or used?

If its NIB, it is worth quite a bit more.

1. Infinite ONE: Not a super popular ball, but a decent one. With good specs, I would price this one around $75-$80 + shipping

2. Playmaker: Pretty popular and pretty good. With good specs, this one should at least bring $100 + shipping I would think.

3. Original Black Widow: Here''s the big hitter in this lineup. Extremely popular, very good, and VERY hard to find NIB. With good specs, I wouldn''t take less than $150 for it, maybe more. + shipping

4. Momentum Swing: While not as popular as the original momentum, it was still a decent ball, but not too many of them sighted around here. With good specs, I would rate it somewhere between the Infinite ONE and the Playmaker at around the $100 mark. Also + shipping

So, for the bunch, somewhere between $425 and $500, but that is just for the balls. I would also ask the buyer to pay for the shipping, especially if I were closer to the $425 number.

That Original Black Widow is probably going to get you some pretty good offers right here once people see this posting.  The other guy may be willing to buy the whole lot and give you a better price just to get it.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.  I kind of feel like you for the most part.  I know that there were a few big fans of the Infinite One, but on the whole it wasn't a great seller.  I'm not trying to start a bidding war, just trying to get a fair shake.
