I have a first time league bowler joining my team this year. He has been using my IQTF and is straight up the back and maybe has a touch of backup. 3 week average is like 145.
He needs a ball and I have a few questions......House is AMF Syn and more on the lighter side of medium with 5 man teams, so lots of early friction and Backend movement. They will not tell us the pattern but about 39-40 feet. High speed mid revs do well.
Looking at three balls....Rumble, and Wrecker by Roto Grip and the Wipe Out by Storm. Good entry balls.
My questions are these,
1) is he a full roller and if so would a FR drilling benefit him? If not, what would one suggest for a layout that he can work into?
2) is he better off with some shine or a dull surface for the best hitting power?
3) he is a head pro at a local golf course so with a little practice should be able to start making the ball hook in time....suggestion if a non FB layout is not used?
4) last, since he is a head pro that has a small retail shop, he is very aware of his customers buying on line or elsewhere. Would buying on line and having the local pro shop drill it be out of line and what price is fair for a thumb slug and finger grips?
Thanks much
