...it hit me this week that, for the first time in my life, I'm bowling on a sanctioned scratch league. Weird.

Even my PBAX leagues have been handicap. The last scratch league I bowled on was a college intramural league.

I would love to have shot better than 514 to get the league started, though. It didn't help that our opening-night pattern either had an inverted "V" shape at the end or was flat across with no taper. Tougher than usual. But I should have been able to battle that (others did).
