Hey everyone,
I've noticed this before, but I've never really thought to post until now. Has anyone else noticed the way that the game of bowling just always seems to even out? Here's what I mean: Two weeks ago, in my scratch-match play league, I threw the ball terrible! My balance at the line was a joke, my release was sloppy and my ability to hit my mark was non-existent. Actually, for me this is more of an average night. Just kidding. Anyhow, I somehow managed to beat both of my opponents that night. I was able to take advantage of a missed spare to come back against the one guy, and I carried a couple of questionable strikes to hold off the other. I averaged 195 for five-game set and won 3-2, 3-2.
Then there was last night. I had to use my B game because warmups told me that I was never going to get through carrydown with my A game. Anyhow, I threw the ball beautifully. I was solid at the line, clean with the release and very accurate. I didn't set the house on fire with my scores (217, 223, 220), but I didn't shoot poorly either. In the end, I beat one opponent 3-0, but lost 3-0 to the other. I had chances to win each of the first two games, needed the punch out the 10th both times. First game, threw a good shot and rang a 10-pin. Second game, buried the first ball, threw brooklyn and carried the second, made a great shot but left a stone 10 pin for a tie. Lost in the roll-off.
It just always seems to me that things in this game even out in the end. The other night in mixed league, caught two terrible breaks early on good shots, but carried a nose hit and a very light mixer later on to even it out. Bowled poorly and won 2 weeks ago, bowled very well and lost last night. Threw a brooklyn strike on the second ball in the 10th, left a stone 10 on the best ball of the entire game on the very next shot.
Now I know that there are reasonable, explainable answers for everything that I've mentioned above. However, I contend that this game just finds a way of evening things out in the end. If you get tapped all night long one week, somewhere down the line you're going to have a week where you're all over the place and somehow you score anyhow. Has anyone else noticed this?

Bowling is without a doubt the dumbest, most pointless, most idiotic excuse for a game that has ever been invented. So, what time are we bowling tomorrow?
