Most expensive bowling you've seen?
« on: April 14, 2007, 05:07:10 PM »
What's the highest price you've paid, or seen advertised in a local house?  Went to practice today (a Saturday afternoon) and it was $5.50 a game, everywhere else had cosmic bowling.  This is the highest I've seen, just wondering how it compares to what other parts of the country are seeing.  This is southern California by the way.

In Nuernberg (Germany) up to 4.60 Euro equals 6,21 USD a game
in league play 2,60 Euro => 3,51 per game.

The highest I've seen was 4.75 a game up in Phoenix.  I bowl the odd hours when the specials are good and if I hustle I can get the games down to 20 cents each on the 5 dollars for 3 hours nights.

I know this place out in Gates NY, charging about $4 a game.  At my house it's only $3.35, but once I bowled nine games and the guy behind the counter asked for five bucks.  I know everyone there!

Here's the price list for Bowlmor Lanes in NYC:

Prices
Mon.-Thurs. Before 5pm: $8.95 per person per game
After 5pm: $9.25 per person per game (except Mon. Night Strike)
Fri.-Sat. Before 5pm: $9.25 per person per game
After 5pm: $9.45 per person per game
Sun. $9.25 per person per game

Shoe rental: $5 per pair

I don't bowl at Bowlmor but as for my house, for leagues, I pay $35 a week for 36 weeks but that's not the most expensive league in the house. There is another league that's $50 a week but that includes all brackets, pots and eliminators.

3 holes of fun!!

I hope at these prices the lanes are at least dressed for open play as well as league!

Anything over 3 bucks a game is too high. Most of the centers that charge 5 dollars a game are usually AMF centers. But I'd rather pay 5 bucks a game then 15-20 bucks an hour. I always refuse that because I want to bowl at my own pace, not someone else dictating my time.

Brunswick house though which I generally only have to pay $1.50 a game to .99 cents and I get a ton of free games. I bowl two leagues at this house and they are $13.50 and $16.00

I have never heard of you in my life. Unless you are the Austin kid that was up at the Pro-shop with Pitman the other day.

Definitely Chelsea Piers in Lower Manhattan,NYC. Port Authority, Bowlmor and the newly opened spot in Harlem.

Least expensive, as I know, is a new bowling alley (opened last November) charges $4.50 a game (after 6pm)!!  lucky for me, it's about 5-8 mins. away.
