Ball Selection

There's a lot of new releases.  Do you buy a ball based on your current need (hole in the bag) or just what's hot?  I have no need for the Quantums but they just look good.

I used to buy the latest and greatest.  Then I found out the truth.  Like the supplement industry and bodybuilding, it is generally all unnecessary.  If you want more hook, hit the gym and develop forearm, finger, hand, and wrist strength.  Get your timing down and learn about leverage.  Learn to control ball speed.  Get a spinner and adjust the balls you have.  In the end, coverstock rules all.  I do plan on getting a new ball but it will be urethane only because I don't have any urethane balls and my center's oil seems to evaporate by the 2nd game.  Like I see 0 oil rings by the middle of game 2.

i rarely buy a ball just because "i want it" or it "looks good" or "because everyone has it, it must be good." i tend to go by if it aint broke dont fix it. otherwise i feel like im actually wasting money because i have a shiny new bowling ball to use but my old one is perfectly good and im still scoring with it. and especially with balls being discontinued so rapidly i want to use the good "old" balls as long as i can before i cant anymore.

I don't really have any holes in my bag now.
The Hammer is great for heavy to light oil for me. I just have to use my brain.
Though atm I prefer the Freak Show, again, any condition.
The best thing you got "in the bag" is your brain.

But if the PSO I go to can get the Track Paradox for me, then I'll get it. Going to try and get him to do something diffrent with the thumb hole now.
I can't put the thumb too far down anymore. I got that shit mark on my thumb, and it hurts like damn now. So on Wednesday's practice, I tried something diffrent. Only put the thumb down to the first joint. Was weird since I'm not used to it.
But I managed to play 814 (4 games). So an average of 200+.
The PSO probably has to make the thumb hole slightly narrower.
Most used:
Motiv Venom Shock (14)
DV8 Grudge Hybrid (14)
Hammer Scandal (14)
DV8 Freakshow (14)

Sometimes.
C300 Swerve (14)
Motiv Jackal LE (14)

Retired:
Roto Grip Sinister (13)
Motiv Jackal (14)

Given to a no-thumber in the club:
Brunswick T-zone (13)

Might stick with Motiv from now on.
