There's a lot of new releases. Do you buy a ball based on your current need (hole in the bag) or just what's hot? I have no need for the Quantums but they just look good.
-
both lol I need some additional bags, and the Quantums had the deal going on with the free bag. I love the Fire, the green not so much.

I do like the 3 ball tote promotion for the Quantums...might as well get something for the higher price tag, right? I am looking into picking up the Green Quantum for when my Vintage DZ isn't enough ball, may I ask why you weren't a fan of the Green?

I only buy new balls if I have a hole in my arsenal or if I am going to bowl at another house and my current equipment is not adequate. I bowl with Storm and just dropped from 15lb to 14lb. I moved from VA to FL last summer. Could not bowl with any of my 15lb equipment so I bought some new 14lb. Went to Vegas in Jan and my equipment wasn't strong enough, so I will buy some stronger equipment to take to Vegas with me. Unfortunately, it will spend most of the time in my bag.

I dont have a high amount of Revs so Symmetric balls are hit or miss for me, I just dont think this ball makes the motion to the pocket for how I throw it. I feel like the forest is more of a niche oil pattern. When i need something for higher volume of oil my Pitbull and Edge solid gives me a better look. When its the right pattern this ball hits like a truck, dont get me wrong its a good ball but its not something I carry all the time. I currently bring, Pitbull, Edge Solid, vandal Smash, Fire, orginal Vandal, Plastic. I watched my coach throw the new Creed, and holy cow that is a ball that is impressive, that will be THS killer.

I try to fill holes first but I also buy far more than I need, even with bowling on sport shots. I ultimately keep the ones that give me the best overall arsenal and sell/give away the rest. I switched to 14 last summer, so it was a lot of experimenting this past season to find what best matched up for me. I'm now trying to fill in the holes and ditch the overlaps.

The problem is it seems like almost all asymmetric balls are for medium heavy oil and above. As my revs are also low I have an asymmetric oiler and probably should have more but keep find myself buying urethane and pseudo urethane. Should get more comfortable playing away from the track but my carry suffers so much playing inside hard to convince my self to change especially since nearly everyone will be able to chase the oil inside better than me. 40 something going on 81 lol.

My wife wishes she could limit me to that lol. Heck, I'm the one that has to carry them. I limit myself!!

Lol its a closet space limitation thing. Is tempting to keep some older balls in the garage but yeah finding it hard to throw everything I have already even semi regularly so good way to stop myself.

Obviously both, these companies' put out so much stuff, it's sometimes hard to not get ball fever.. ::) As I've gotten over, I realize nothings more important than mechanics, fundamentals, being a versatile player in all possible areas, along with mental toughness.
As great as balls are, without any of these features, it's just another shiny marble with little to no purpose for you; all about your MENTAL AND PHYSICAL GAME ALWAYS!!!
-
Amen. Probably would surprise many people how high score they could throw with just their spare ball as long as the rest of their physical and mental game is clicking.
-
I buy for need... on an impulse. ;D
Seriously though, if I see something on sale/clearance that I might have a use for I'll jump on it. Otherwise I'll just be thinking about it and cursing myself when someone else buys it for a good price.

Exactly why I wrote it.
