IQ Tour weighthole suggestions...
« on: October 09, 2012, 05:04:12 PM »
I threw an IQ Tour at a demo and it rolled early with an extremely smooth, continuous backend. I basically copied that layout on the one I drilled and it rolls a little too late and is a bit over/under on the backend on fresh patterns, which is what I want it for. I've tried taking the surface down to 800 grit and while it smoothed out in the back a little, it still goes a bit too long. The ball obviously doesn't flare much to begin with so I'm thinking a weight hole could get the ball to roll up a little sooner without making it more angular off the dry. The CG is about a half inch right of the center of grip, and the ball had 1.88oz top weight to start. Where should the weight hole go to give me the reaction I want and keep it statically legal? I've tried reading up and learning but it's too much information to process hours before going to the alley haha. Thanks for the help

A weight hole 2" down on the VAL from the PAP will make the ball a strong as possible for that particular layout. If its statically possible. Have you tried P3 would be the next strongest. Again if statically possible.

You would actually want the hole 2" down the val from the midline, not your PAP. This will reduce the drill angle to get the ball to start up sooner.
