im going to soak it right now
what temp water?
how long under water?
finger holes not covered?
submerged??

And1_headach -- Well, if you did as you said, you've already soaked it, but here goes.

what temp water?  --  As hot as your water heater puts out (probably 140 - 150 deg).

how long under water?  --  15 minutes, with Dawn dishwashing detergent added.  Then remove and wipe oil off, then repeat a total of four times with fresh hot water/Dawn (or more times if the ball is still bleeding oil).

finger holes not covered?  --  Place the ball in the vessel you use so the holes are straight up, then fill with the hot water/Dawn until the level almost reaches the holes.
