Ball Spinner Advice Needed
« on: November 18, 2008, 01:07:39 AM »
I am ready to buy my first spinner and don't want to buy one that turns out bad. What HP? Will a built in splash guard(Donkee) work better than a tub? Are 2 speeds really necessary? Any brands good or bad? I have worked my average up from 160 to 200 and want to keep improving with better ball understanding and modification. Thanks for any inputs.

I bought the 1/3hp Vertex and it is great.. I was cheap and didn't get the 1/2 hp but honestly I don't see why I would need the 1/2hp.  The guy at vertex said that if you really put some pressure on the 1/3hp  you can get it to stop and the clutch to engage.  I have never even come close to being able to stop the spinner while using it.  One speed is fine too.. it is the perfect speed.

best price is at buddies for $224.95 out the door.. no shipping costs
looks like the 1/2 hp is only 30 bucks more.. I thought it was more of a difference at the time.  Anyway.. either one will be great.

I have a 1/3 hp spinner (no brand name on it that I can find and there was none on the box it came in) that I bought in 1995.  I have had no problems with it in all that time.

Vertex 1/2 hp owner here. Bought it straight from Vertex. No problems whatsoever.

When a house bowler misses the mark, misses the break point and strike, for many ppl its called a wallshot. When a pro does that its call adjustment

When a house bowler gets his finger stuck in the ball and fall on the lanes, for many ppl its called lame bowler. When a pro does that its called the Machuga flop! ha i like this one.
