14 lb
« on: March 19, 2010, 04:35:42 AM »
I currently throw a 14 lb ball because of a hand injury I did 5 years ago. I t does not hurt as much and I am wondering if I should go to a 15 lb ball. Reason said is because the 14 lb ball does not seem to hold the lane very long. I can rev it more but I don't get carry either.

If you have some left over 15# stuff, try it and slowly see how your injury feels and see if you really are getting better carry with the 15# stuff

I am moving to a 14 from 15 since I've had a wrist injury.  I still throw my 15s, but last night I threw solely my 14 and carried as well as I did with the 15.  Well at least my scores didnt suffer.  It was a little touchy, but as long as I was careful and hit my mark, I was striking.  Its up to you though.  If you're thinking about it, I'd get a used 15 and practice.  Keep the cost down.  And if it works then get you a new ball.  That's why I'd do.

Do what you like, I just shot 759 last night with a 14lb ball, and the ONLY reason it wasn't more, was ME.
