Blue Vibe
« on: December 25, 2008, 04:23:52 AM »
Can this ball be drilled to work well on short/light oil patterns? The general consensus seems to be that it reads earlier and is rollier then the other vibes. I have a rev rate over 500, speed anywhere from 16-20+mph depending on conditions, and my track is somewhat on the lower side of medium. I need a ball to clear the heads when they are fried and arc on the back with enough strength to carry. Do you think I can make the blue vibe work with the layout and polish? If not, what would you suggest? Besides a Rayzr!

I think If you put you pin over you middle finger, put the cg in the palm of you hand and polist it to about 4000 + polish It'll be just wat you wannt./

FYI The Blue Vibe and all the Vibes, as far as I know, come sanded to 4000 grit Abralon with a high gloss coat of Powerhouse Factory Finish polish. This wouldn't help.

I think a polish with a slip agent like Powerhouse's Delayed Reaction or Neo-Tac's Control-It could help. It reduces backend and adds length.

Didn't the blue vibe have a touch of particle in it?

REgards,

Luckylefty
PS and was therefore slightly earlier and sooner?

Not that I know of. The coverstock is the CutThroat that SVstar34 says it has. Most people remember the CutThroat used with particles in several balls, but it is also a "plain" resin coverstock, as in the Blue Vibe. It has some mica "sparklies" for appearance sake.

I don't remember the cutthroat ever looking like it was anything but a very light load particle in all the balls I saw it in!

From the

Saw Blade

Real Deal

Big Deal(remember Black Widow core)

Hawg

I was told that the Deal(which many didn't like but had a 900 to its credit) and was very smooth in many settings had too much particle.  Hence the Big Deal and Real Deal and their reduced load(that is the time the name Real Deal came out along with Cut Throat Coverstock.  Source....I don't remember!  Long time ago.

If one thinks of the balls above(I had a Hawg and there is little doubt it was a particle and much stronger than the other lighter load particles I compared it too).
I would say if we compared the Blue Vibe to the other Vibes(same core) the Big Deal to the Black Widows(same core) we would have to say there was more midlane and a little smoother backend.

Me I believe there was significant discussion of whether the Blue Vibe was particle or pure reactive and I believe I remember the answer finally came out that it was a light load particle.

I believe the view of particles is don't call them that and they sell.  Such I believe was the case with Cut throat.  Sounds like some particle to me just with that whole cutting thing!

REgards,

Luckylefty
PS ball reviews numbers above = Deal = 494(listed as pearl particle), Real Deal = 564(cut throat), Big Deal = 598(cut throat).

From my recollection of the discussion about the Blue Vibe and the Hammer response posted by someone, the Blue Vibe is a solid reactive with some pearl additive added. A low load pearl so to speak and not particle.

CutThroat is particle, but not the CutThroat on the Blue Vibe, it is the solid version of it... There was a whole discussion on this months ago about the coverstock on the Blue Vibe, and there was help from Hammer saying it is a solid coverstock no particles
