Ball Choice

My girlfriend's dad joined our bowling team. He used to be a very good bowler as an amateur but this was 15 years ago. His first night back, not really ever bowling for 15 years, he rolls a 215 with a house ball! Anyways, obviously he decided he wants to get a new ball. He is old school down and in but his form is very good. what ball should i recommend him taking a look at? The lanes we bowl on are medium at most, usually on the lighter side.

How bout a Rotogrip Neptune?  If he liked the look of the plastic ball then you don't want to go with anything too aggressive or too much backend.  I think that basically = Neptune.. with a dynamite core that kills the pins. I think the vibe would still have to be drilled very weak or polished up alot to kill the backend reaction.

There are many balls out there for lighter meduim codtions for an older bowler. Tropical storm,Storm street rods, Ebonite bash , Hammer Vibes, HAmmer rayzr, Columbia Jazz and neptune . Those all are Say beginner balls but you can always look into mid-price also. Columbia Noize, Brunswick Copperhead,Ebonite playmaker , Storm T roads and Storm rapid fires just to name a few. Main thing is find out how much he wants to get into sport then you can deicde $100 or more for a ball .

Avalanche Solid or Street Rod.  The best stuff for their price point in my opinion, and either would be good on the conditions you're bowling on.  If he has less revs(unless his speed is quite low too) I'd go for the Street Rod, more revs go with the Avalanche.

From what I have seen of the Avalanche series that would be a good starting point. There are a number of options as has been stated. I would suggest to have your local pro shop watch him for a little IF they can to get in the right direction.
