Balls that were/are irreplaceable
« on: October 01, 2008, 06:14:45 AM »
Does anybody have a favorite ball that they have never been able to replace? I just added a discontinued ball into my arsenal and am worried I won't be able duplicate the reaction with a different ball and waste alot of time looking. Do alot of people "stock up" when in the same situation?

A friend of mine has a Storm Trauma that he has been trying to replace/duplicate for a couple of years.  Hes even found another Trauma and re-drilled it the same, but it doesn't act the same, not even close.

He has bought around 10 balls and has had them drilled and redrilled in differing variations and has NEVER been able to reproduce the reaction he gets with this particular ball. And yes, hes been to different drillers and NOBODY has been able to do it, not even after consulting with Storm industries themselves.

Right now, I have a gamebreaker with a reaction like nobody else's that I have seen. Every one that I have seen has been much stronger than mine. Even before I polished it, I could use it on pretty dry shots.  Now with polish, it is pretty weak and doesn't seem to finish well at all unless I really get a good, clean, strong release.  Not something I WANT to duplicate, just something I haven't seen from anybody else's gamebreaker.  All the other ones seem MUCH stronger than mine.

Yep Rhino Pro T2

The closest that I have come to a replacement is the Charcoal executioner,
and that is now discontinued.  Needless to say I have a case of them

Original Storm Thunder. I know there are a lot of things that have since come out with that core, but the original Thunder had a unique look on the lanes. Closest I've seen is the Dark Thunder Pearl but it's not exact.

Original bone AMF XS, for those of us who liked it. Original Storm X-Factor is pretty unique, too, as was the Paradigm.

The jury is still out on whether Lane #1 will be able to duplicate the Tsunami H20 now that the company no longer uses Brunswick coverstocks.

Storm Paradigm

Found one NIB this past February.  It now has about 10 cracks all around the finger, pin area, but it's still rolling great!

Code is the closest I can think of. It's probably slightly earlier than the Red/black Vendetta.
