Balls that were/are irreplaceable
« on: October 01, 2008, 06:14:45 AM »
Does anybody have a favorite ball that they have never been able to replace? I just added a discontinued ball into my arsenal and am worried I won't be able duplicate the reaction with a different ball and waste alot of time looking. Do alot of people "stock up" when in the same situation?

I would have got away with it if it was not for those pesky kids (Behind my lane) and those blasted 10 pins.

When a house bowler misses the mark, misses the break point and strike, for many ppl its called a wallshot. When a pro does that its call adjustment

When a house bowler gets his finger stuck in the ball and fall on the lanes, for many ppl its called lame bowler. When a pro does that its called the Machuga flop! ha i like this one.

I have a Track Animal that I still use. This was a consistent rolling ball new and still has not lost a thing as far as hit and carry. I have other equipment that is drilled similar but I just can't seem to get the same results.

My first X-Factor,   First couple weeks the ball hooked outa the house, but after about 30 games it calmed down, and turned into one of the best balls i've ever thrown, very predictable, and just crushed the pins.   My second Xfactor had a completely different drilling but was about the same, awesome lane reaction didnt matter the lane pattern.

The one ball i wish i could find again, is a Tour Power with a 3 to 3.5 pin and 3.5top weight   The one i had, was a short pin, but read the lanes so easy it was stupid.

When I first got my Black Widow Solid, I didn't think any ball could match it. But I got the Venom, and it's as good if not better.

Other than that, the Ultimate Inferno was one Hell of a ball that is hard to match too.

I sold my last (2) NIB 15 lb Tour Powers with 3" pin to a guy I met at the USBC's.  He paid $450 for both.

Vendetta Particle Pearl. I've not had anything match its versatility and carrying ability(not because I haven't tried, mind), but I still keep looking.
Someday, hopefully.

I would pay a lot of money for a Track Sensor II.  One of the best balls I've ever thrown in my life that wasn't a MoRich.

Check it out and add me if you want!

That Track ball was purple right?  If so, I had one too.  Great ball.  I guess if we are talking about a ball that can't be replaced, I would have to say my Track Phoenix.  Great ball that came out at the most wrong of times.

Ive seen lots of strike balls mentioned. But I have always been able to find the same basic reaction with different balls for that, mine is the Plastic Clear Wolf, a spare ball. Used to original Wolf weightblock encased in orange plastic. It goes straight enough to shoot every spare with, but with a "real" weightblock inside of it, it rolls up just enough to become an effective strike ball on burnt lanes. I will shoot a 300 with it yet, I have multiple 279's with it, just can't help but get a little fast with one shot somewhere, lol.

Luckily I found one on Ebay about 3-4 yrs ago, undrilled. Still sitting in my closet for when my current one bites the dust, although it is still going strong after about 12 years. lol
