Balls You Would like to See Made That Arent
« on: February 01, 2010, 11:54:42 PM »
And I''''m not talking about remaking discontinued balls. I''''m talking about taking a manufactures current cores and cover and making a new ball that they havn''''t or wont.

Personally, I''''d love to see a company put out a ball using a high diff (.50+) low Rg (2.499 or lower) core and a really weak pearl coverstock.

Something like taking 900G''''s OG bounty core and wrapping it in S30 Coverstock

Or Roto Grip using the Cell core and using Sure Grip Pearl

Or Storm''''s Dimension core and digging out the old Accutread cover

Im sure any of the Ebo brands could do the same but they change coverstock name every release so its hard to keep up with them.

So what would you like to see slapped together from the leftover parts bins?

I'd like to see Rotogrip take the Nomad core and add one of the Cell covers to it.

The manufacturers are starting to listen to what the bowlers and pro shop guys are saying...

weak cores and strong covers or strong cores and weak covers are the future of our game

This is why you have seen the Freeze so successful for Columbia and the Fast/Furious so good for Storm.

Get some of the older cores out of the closet and use the new covers on them.

Storm's Bolt Pro core + R2S coverstock = $$$$

Older Brunswick Zone cores would be great with some of their new coverstocks.

Just my 2 cents....

R2S solid on the RAD+ block. Got four overseas releases that have this block but none have the solid cover.

Talked to Storm tech about this as well as a regional rep and they said they have no plans to offer such a monster.

Too bad.

I still dream of a ball from Storm with the classic Accu-Tread Pearl cover from the Trauma and the Twin-V core inside. Nothing fancy, but I'd love to have such a ball as a strong medium condition piece, but less itchy than the more modern covers.

They did make the Complete Domination using the RAD+ and R2X.  I don't know if that would be close enough for you or not.

I'm with Doug on this, I have been really loving my middle of the road stuff, or putting basically a mirror on my stronger gear.

I want something that will get down the lane easy enough, but NOT take off and try to kill the 7 pin (I'm righty lol).  I've been really digging my Storm Pyro lately - gets down easy enough, but doesn't take a nose dive left - just sort of moseys to the pocket.

The asymmetric urethane?  Now that would be an absolute trip.
