Bash my video!! v2.0
« on: July 08, 2004, 09:57:29 AM »
Well, I practiced tonight, and I tryed what jeff suggested. It also eliminated the gigantic side step I took by a lot..

New results: (Gigantic side step pretty much gone, and pushaway starts after 1st step, instead of starting with the first step)

Old style:

I still want to square my shoulders up more, as they open up quite a bit. And yes, I will start to slow my footwork for now on. I noticed it helps.

EDIT: Oh yea, the head pin was offset to the right by about 2-3 inches, which is why I left a 5 pin on a pocket shot, the pin setter is f'ed up)

CS, I like the new look.  The side step looks much better now, how is that feeling?  Other than that, way to carry the 5 pin Sally.

It's looking better

You have finished your last step and the ball is still very high though - to counter this you pull the ball through the down swing.

I would seriously consider lengthening your approach to slow your feet down!

Looks pretty damn good to me. You look like you flow with the shot more now than with the side step. Good Job, keep it up.

That was a pretty nice shot.

Does your husband or boyfriend bowl, too?

You had to know stuff like this was gonna happen posting a 5 pin...lol!

Keep up the great work.  Perseverance will pay off down the road.

Hey Jeff, would an upright stance/delivery, providing for a very square arrival at the foul line(much like Randy Pederson) be what channel surfer' looking for?  Arriving with a little more slide at the foul line.  It appears that he should be strong enough to impart a very strong forward roll with a delivery like that.  It's gonna take a little getting used to.  You can always combine the "brute force" method with fluid movements to the line.

Well, when I do play down and in, my shoulders are usually still open. But instead of the ball going right, I pull it, and it goes **somewhat** left. I personnaly think I'd do better if I was more square. I feel that I would improve greatly by doing so. I'd still be able to play an "out-and-in" shot by simply turing my body towards the target, same thing that I do now.

Hopefully I will bowl tonight and see if I can keep everything straighter and slower.

P.S- Like I said, the head pin was REALLY offset, which is how you leave the 5 pin on a pocket shot.. I think.

I'm no coach but I'll try.you look a little better but I think you need to back up a good foot and take a very positive first step forward followed by a good push on the ball on the second step.this might help you to not bend over at the waist on you're second step.remember to use you're legs and not you're back.you want to get lower with the legs and keep a straight back and shoulders.
The harder I try the harder they fall
