Two handed release
« on: August 09, 2007, 06:56:37 AM »
hi all,

I am thinking of going 2 handed for this upcoming season. Reason being that my wrist has been a problem for 3 years running and I am sick of it.  Every year I lose a month to wrist injury and lose 2months of any decent scores.  So does anybody have a couple of vids of the guy who does it on tour? Palerma or whatever, he obviously has mastered it and I would like to watch more and learn from what he does.

Well as I was asked to update, I tried it out for 3 games last night.  The first game was borderline horrible, I was in the 150's.  Second game I switched to a different ball, got a better reaction, had the first 4, spare, open couple strikes.. 186.  3rd game about the same as the 2nd mid 180s.. Spare shooting will need to improve, I am not the best with figuring the angles as of yet, o well.  I did manage a 10pin and narrowly missed another throwing my redzone as flat as possible.  Late in the night there as a pretty good no thumb bowler who came in next to us and was amazed at the length I was getting and how flat I COULD throw it. I didn't think it was special but whatever.   I think with a plastic ball for spares it could work.  The good stuff:  AWESOME pin action, more speed, more revs and the important part NO PAIN!  I tried throwing spares one handed and was ready to die so that was enough of that.   I will either bowl two handed this season or not at all.  Suprisingly enough to me, I think its easier to hit marks with this release and I get better projection down the lane with it, I feel its a better option for me, but YMMV.

I've seen a good bowler(one hander) try it one day and he could barely inch below 230.

HE learned the skill immediately! He kept exclaiming....
"This is so easy""  "You can't miss...there is so much area".

I went the next week and tried and I don't ever remember saying..."This is easy"...." "there is so much area"....

haha,

Well I don't know if there was more area persay, but it was a lot less stress on my wrist which let me throw it a lot easier.  I liked it much better.
