Ballreviews Needs Your Suggestions For Updating The Site
« on: April 22, 2008, 03:49:24 AM »
Hello Everyone-

We are looking to update the site with new features, and a better forum to keep Ballreviews as the best ball review site out there.  We are looking to add reviews for shoes, bags, and accessories.   Also we are going to implement video and picture uploads.  We are looking to you guys for any suggestions you have for the following categories - Layout, Content, Navigation of the site, and Forum Tools.  Please feel free to post any suggestions you have for these categories, but try to keep it short and sweet.

Example post:  Forum Tool - I would like to have a better way of searching the forum.

We thank you for your suggestions, and help in making Ballreviews the best it can be.

Who monitors when someone writes a review for a ball, say the Gravity Shift, then posts it under a different ball, say the Dimension?

I would actually like to be able to look back at posts's from farther back, and actually be able to look at the whole post, not just the opening question or statement, but everyone one els'e response to whatever was said.

You can only search back 30 days in whichever forum, and like I said only can see the original post by the poster.

Probably said before, but something simple like...

Ignore Thread

or

Ignore Forum

Could be better than ignoring certain users.

Proven waste of bandwidth. Other similr sites allowed avatars and now have options to ignore avatars. There are more important options.

The signature line needs to have a maximum on characters allowed. This site has turned into a complete FIGJAM about what my average has been over the last 14 seasons and what my arsenal is. Put that crap in your profile.

I want a FIGJAM Forum and a What's In Your Arsenal Forum.

That way we can pretty much weed out the useless posts in the Miscellaneous section from the good questions and threads that can potentially help out those willing to learn.

How 'bout adding "<<Previous" and "Next>>" for navigating multi-page topics in addition to clicking on the small numbers.

Page numbers on the main forum screen.  Example: if thread x is 7 pages long, I shouldn't have to click the thread title and THEN click on page 7.  I should be able to click on the 7 from the main forum page.

Signatures should be limitted to the number of lines that is has.  There is not need to list 20 Balls that you may have and your averages in every league that you have ever bowled in your lifetime.  Some signatures last a full page!!  This is not needed, it is just too much!

How about the ability to see who is signed on in alphabetical order with the total time at the end of the name.  This could be in the form of a link that would lead to a new window, and if the page is too long due to too many people on at the same time, a search function could be added.

I really don't care who else is signed on &/or how many posts they have.  It doesn't matter & it's called privacy.

My suggestion for the ball review section is for each ball there be a release date so we know how old it is.  But like TCP said, nothing has really been done that's been suggested.  Flame away.

On edit:  I do look for the earliest review to get an idea, but still would be nice to see the release date.  JMO.

8 months and very few fixes. I say we need to go back to the "goldmember" days.
last few days I have been spending some time at BBE and things seem to have gotten better over there.

I think if your going to ask about it then you should fix it.

more background options.
No non bowling related

also post count.
i love the ignore user button.
the page thing that auo flips you back to the first page when you are 12 pages in...... SUCKS Moderation?????? what moderation??

the rh vs lh for sale column was a good one.

There are more but at the rate we are going now I better stop... it will take decades for this list to be finished.
