Need some help
« on: November 27, 2008, 03:57:46 PM »
Hey guys just am needing some help choosing what I should take this weekend for a tournament. The reason I am asking because I might be limited on how many I can take, my coach is taking me to the tournament instead of my parents. The tournament is a JTBA event in Mansfield Ohio at Park Lanes. Last time I was at Park the lane surface was Guardian. The format is 6 games qualifying, cut to top 16 boys for matchplay. Matchplay is best of three each round. We are usually on a PBA pattern or Sport pattern. Well here are my definite choices to take. Layouts in my profile. Stats on how I throw the ball in profile.

1. N'Tense LevRG 1000 grit 2. Total NV 2000 grit 3. Cell Pearl Box 4. Awesome Finish 4000 grit 5. Twisted Fury 2000 grit 6. Emerald Vibe Box 7. Razyr Box 8. Spare Ball

Now these are the balls I am on the fence about taking:

1. Black Widow Venom 2000 grit 2. Momentum 4000 grit 3. Pin Slasher Gray Pad 4. Street Rod Solid 1000 grit 5. Sahara Box 6. Avalanche Pearl Box

Well thanks!

I think the balls you are sure on will be good enough.  You cover pretty much both ends of the spectrum, as long as the levrg at 1000 will be early enough for you to handle floods.  Good Luck.

Agreed with the above poster.  Just make sure you have plenty of coverage for hook, mainly on the backends.  Guardian is EXTREMELY high friction.....can yield some very high scores if the lanes get broken down properly, but they tend to get to hooking A LOT.
