I think my bowling days are done
« on: September 11, 2009, 10:36:54 AM »
I started the year with a sore knee.  I've bowled 5 sets, all with a rather large brace on and the knee is worse than ever, sore in 2 places.  And the other knee is now acting up.  sigh.

CRD--I am old and have been in athletics most of my life.  The first step is
always to get a diagnosis from a qualified individual.  Yes, aches and pains
do happen with overuse but he has said nothing about that.  The injured person
needs to know exactly what he is dealing with.  Depending on age, it could well
be a form of arthritis, which is best dealt with by meds.  Noone should be
guessing or prescribing without diagnosis.

Crd--do not put words in my mouth.  I merely recommended that he see a doctor
to see what is wrong and what the best course of action would be.  You are
the one who said "you can't fix knees".  I pointed out that you were wrong
and there are numerous ways to "fix" various problems with knees.  I stand by
my advice--see a doctor and find out what you are dealing with.  You are making
assumptions about his leg strength and his weight.  You don't know!!!!!

Man up and quicherbichin?

Actually, my father has dealt with knee pains, and has always felt better after a good solid workout at the gym. Like another person has said, you should see a professional to make sure nothing major is damaged, and continue from there.
