It's the middle of the league season, and we just finished the holidays, so, what's on your pro shop's shelves right now?

Yeah, but what do you stock?

I was just at a shop and they had about 12 balls on display - both Cells, a couple from Storm, about 4 different from Hammer, and about 4 from Ebonite.

Nothing from Columbia, AMF, 900G, Brunswick, or any other company.  I was really surpised.

Other than a Bash, everything else was $190 or higher.

Now, I know better than to call your shop a broom closet.

Cuz we know that it's just a pretend shop, with pretend customers.  And you probably sold 30 pretend balls today.

And at the end of the road you make a left....right into the river.

And the police station was just 4 blocks away!

I'll send you my addy in a PM.

And in case I forget, happy birthday in 4 days!

We have over 200 balls in stock and close to 60 on display. We stock all Ebonite brands/balls and all Storm brands/balls along with a few Motiv balls.

Over 50 balls and bags on display....that's pretty impressive.  And a very clean shop.

And the golf channel on TV - probably Natalie or Michelle.

Looks like a place I wouldn't mind hanging out for a few.

Now I have to find a way to send you this $10 Starbucks card.

I'm not going to use it.  Q's a Diet Coke from the vending machine type of guy.

In case you wanted to know.

We stock a fairly complete inventory of plastic balls.  We have a Jigsaw, a 505A, and several Tornados.  Most of our reactive resin balls are special ordered, we can get them from our supplier in two days max.  --  JohnP

We have over 50 balls on display and they are for the most part new inventory.

We have balls from plastic to Tornadoes to Freezes to Hammer Raw series to the Roto Cell series and Black Widow series.......all in stock.  As well as the lower end Ebonite Bash, Boom, Slash etc........

Most balls that are selling are in the intermediate to lower price point.

We've got a full stock of roller bags and entry level shoes.  As well as many other shoes ( we are within 10 miles driving dist. of our distributor, so we can get stuff fast).

Besides the variety of plastic and entry level reactives(Tropical Storm, Tornado, and Power Grooves), we have about 20 other balls on display.

Low Mid Price
Avalanches
Smash, Boom
Vibes
Freezes

Mid Price
Fast
Natural
Python
505 A
505 C
Burn
Jacked

High Mid Price
Nasty
Sting
Wild Card
Wild Thing
Bedlam

High Price
C System
Jigsaw

Other than that, we have a discontinued rack that has some equipment left of it.  Most of that goes quickly during the holidays.

Also, we don't stock a whole lot of equipment since we can get anything the same day if needed, or the next day if shipped.  Rarely do we have a customer that "has" to have ball the same day.

Who needs a 300 or 800, when I have a 294 and a 295!?!?!

Good stuff here.

For those that don't stock a lot of inventory, do you keep a list of balls available?  Maybe a catalog (not sure if manufacturers still put those out) or maybe even put together something yourselves (print info from websites)?

Or do you just rely on customers coming in and asking for a particular ball?

I figured at the holiday season there would be more entry level and mid-priced balls on display - I was shocked to see only the high priced stuff sitting on the shelf.  Sometimes that can scare people away from the sport.

Right on,   It was a big  holiday season for entry level to mid price...

Tornado's Trop's and the Freeze line....

I wish Columbia would have done something with Scouts...  More new colors... But I guess they are trying to move people up to the Freeze line...

Happy New year to all

We keep a complete catalog, which has balls, shoes, bags, and accessories, at the counter.  We don't stock any shoes and only the least expensive single ball bags.  Everything else is special ordered.  I only drill about 150 balls a year, and over half of those are plastic.  --  JohnP
