Title: Before I send it out...
Post by: strikestriketapped on October 10, 2006, 10:35:35 AM
I am ordering a Black Widow from Joe of Allstarbowling. I want this ball to go long and snap hard on the backend. What kind of top weight and pin length should I get? I want this ball to have a different type of reaction than my Strike Zone that hooks early.

Anyone? If it helps, I have lower revs.

I dont know about top weight, but I'd say to go with a 3-4 inch pin so that you can put the pin over your fingers and still have some length left to keep the CG around the center/mid line.

As for drill and cover prep...Put the pin over the bridge and MB no more than 2 inches away from your thumb (right side if righty, opposite if lefty).  Then bring the cover down to 2000 or 1000 if needed.

I vote for 3-5" pin with +3oz top...

Layout

Pin above fingers and mb 45 degrees

You will get length and strong snap with continuation dependant normal THS.
