This has NEVER happened to me before!!  I'm usually the low handicap guy in any golf team tournament I play, but.....Last night I overhear my teammate saying I'll be a good addition to the team for the county tourney because they like how my HANDICAP will help them out!?!?!?!  Talk about a real kick in the nutz!!!  I hate these guys!!

Bones -
My card says 163, but I'm closer to 180 this year.  I've been putting up better numbers the last few weeks, until last night when the whole team just went to crap....I know I'm not as good as I'd like to be, but there's nothing like having it confirmed by others!!

I feel sorry for the guy if his GOLF average is 163!! His arms must be worn out after 18 holes!

I wouldn't worry about it Nollster.  Everybody in this game performs at a different level, and in this case, they are obviously trying to put together a combination that might work where you all might make a little cash.  Take it as a compliment that they think you are good enough to shoot a ton over your average to maximize the handicap you'll be getting.  Just becausa a guy gets a lot of handicap is no reason to put a guy on the team... but if he has potential to put up big numbers, then it makes sense to try it.  I mean, I'm sure there are plenty of other 160-180 avg. bowlers in your house - why would they pick you and not someone else?

I'm also confused. Is this thread about golf, bowling, or none of the above?

If it's about bowling, not sure that it matters if you are usually the lowest handicap player on your golf team. As far as I know, golf and bowling aren't too similar.

If they were saying they wanted you cause of your cap it is probably cause it is using the previous years average of 163 on your card and that they have noticed your improvement to 180.  I would take it as a compliment they recognize that you are now better than you were.

Sorry for the confusion....It's my bowling for this tourney.  I was just referencing that, apparently, I'm a much better golfer than bowler...
