You CAN use a back up ball (hooks like a lefty, but thrown right handed) but its better to learn to flatten out and throw straight, or throw plastic.

As long as you use the same hand for all deliveries, anything goes.  (if not ABC sanctioned, then you can change hands.)

As a side note, we are entering an era that will/should pose problems for the rule makers.  There seem to be an increasing number of 2 handed bowlers.  I'd bet that for various shots one or the other hand is "dominant."  Where does this fit in?

Thats a good point rags, I've never thought about that before. I wonder how that will play out in time, since technically if they throw 2 handed for strikes, wouldnt it be still using both hands, just using the oposite hand to put "hook" on the ball? Hmmmmmm...Guess we'll see, huh?

Rags - I would say which ever side you throw the ball from on your strike ball you would have to stay on that side.

If you throw outside your right leg then all shots would come from there.

Outside the left all shots from there.

Between your legs? I quess all shots from there.

Pinbuster, I hadn't looked at it that way, but you must be right.  It would be difficult to throw from the right side, 2 handed, and have the left hand be dominant, wouldn't it?

I throw a 2-finger ball with both hands on the ball until my final 2 steps on approach. I dont need the same revs/speed as my strike ball on the spare, so the second ball is not held as long on the approach.

My irregular/erratic bowling style borderline conflicts witha ton of rules as I sit here reading the 128pg rulebook
