I've been working out pretty consistently the past year or so, and as such have gotten a bit broader in the shoulders. My two problems were this:
1) Ball speed. It was so much easier to just wing it, especially when I was angry. So I had to learn that the key to a consistent (and better) speed was my footwork. So I worked on taking steps in a rhythm and that helped me a bunch.
2) Lining up. I had to adjust how to start my approach a bit b/c I was perpetually hitting a board or two right of what I wanted. So I had a bit of a pow-wow with my coach, and realized what I needed to do to fix it. If you're having similar problems with lining yourself up, get a second pair of eyes to help you out. I tried for weeks but could NOT figure it out until my coach watched me, lol.
I've had a lot of positive gain in my game though, which is the reason why I plan on keeping with the workout for as long as I can.
