and the 2 4 5. I have not picked these spare combinations up in my last 5 attempts in league. I have left the 5 pin every time. Usually I move right and throw the ball as a high pocket hit to pick this up. Now I am wondering is there a better approach.

Ditto what jabroni said...take the lane condition out of play and throw straight at it. About the only multi-pin leaves worth trying to hook the ball at are going to be the double wood leaves(2-8 or 3-9).

2458 is the bucket. I personally wouldn't throw plastic at that. Depending on the lane condition, I'd be tempted to move 5 right and throw my strike ball (same mark) crossing over have the ball take out the 258 and the 2 hitting the 4.

Hello, I just lowered my track !

I agree with Jeff if you trust your strike ball to stay on track. When I've tried it with my Deuce I've either came in way light leaving the 4, or head on with the 2 and leave the 5. I fixed it by bringing out my 13-year-old Burgandy Hammer, give it my strike ball revs and start it on the 7-board right over the 2nd arrow. It will break at about 40' and sail right in to the 2-5 pocket, taking the 8 with it. I'll also do this for the 2-4-5.

On league night, a realm of untold destruction and horror is formed. Innocent pins are unsuspectingly pulled into this terrifying realm. Their lives are changed forever by the terror that is unleashed upon them for the next 36 frames. They stand in fear as they await their fate when they enter...The Danger Zone. (Only those damn 10-pins have lived to tell the gruesome tale.)

2-4-5: straight at it, or just like you're shooting the 2-pin.
2-4-5-8: Shoot exactly like you'd shoot the 2-8. You throw straight at this one and you're just asking to clip everything off the back pin.

for that kind of bucket, I stand about 5 boards right, and then kinda point the shoulders toward the 2-5, and then throw it with a reactive ball, but I will have to break the wrist a little to reduce the amount of rev.
It's not straight, its not the big hook. Just a little hook to get that 2-8 out.
