On shorter patterns, you generally want to attack it from the outside. Higher RG, lower Differential balls are usually preferred. As far as layouts, you would want the Pin to be far (5.5" or more) from your PAP, and the mass bias near the thumb (in your track to smooth it out, 70 degrees to make the ball more continuos).
Balls that I would recommend:
Saturn
Mercury
Venus
Silver Streak Special Edition
RS-X
These variables would affect what ball I would recommend.
What type of lane surface?
How old are the lanes?
What volume of oil is being used?

I like the RG Planet line that Mat suggested much better than the BG Centaur. I've used both on shorter patterns RG Planets hit better and carry well.

The best short oil/dry lane ball on the market today imo, the desert heat. Drill it pin over ring cg stacked and you will not be dissapointed.

Thank you all,
right now I'm using a Barbed Wire with the pin below the fingers and the MB on the track, the ball goes long, smooth move to the pocket and no hit at all, don't know if it is the ball or the drilling layout.
We will play in this condition 8 games out of 24 in each of the following centers:
Two are Brunswick Anvilane with less than 5 years
one is AMF synthetics about 8 years old
and the last one is Brunswick synthetic about 22 years old
thanks again
