Looking for opinions on Core cover combo as well as surface to combat synthetic lanes with strong backends. Prefer to stay in the SPI family. Sanded pearl? 4000 solid? Symetric/ Asymmetrical?

Just get an IQ Tour Solid and call it a day.  Doesnt get much better than that.

Depends on how much volume you're dealing with and if you're speed dominant or not, etc.

If medium volume and more matched or rev dominant, definitely Tour DynamX, IQ Tour, Hustle RIP, Hyped Solid

If speed dominant and/or higher volume, Phaze 2, TNT, Idol Cosmos, Zen (with surface obviously)

I've seen those IQ Nano pearls look real nice on strong backends for players with your specs if you really like that 3rd arrow rounded tight swing shot on a 42 foot shot you'll love that ball.

Seeing that reaction helped me match up at a tournament with my slower speed copy of that shape with the higher rg, similar total flare Track Tundra Solid.  For awhile I thought I was going to win over about 180 bowlers that day.

Higher flares syms and assyms could not carry that day! Too sharp tons of back row pins!

Good morning. Now that I can walk again, I drilled a Camo Hustle and Hammer Purple reactive.  Both can be too strong in later games and getting to deep is not in the powerhouse. I’m going to add the Hazmat today and see if I can fill that void.  Moved out of California to Missouri and bowl on old wooden lanes.  They flood them so that we can have at least an inside shot during the 4Th game.  I used the Red Hot at Nationals many years ago. Wish I had something like that now.

The Hazmat is going to be considerably stronger than the two balls you mentioned.  You would need to ball down into something like a Twist. 

Can't say enough about tour dynamix for your situation.  Great control like IQ Tour but heavier rolling for better carry

Thank you for the replies.  I had the Hazmat drilled and I threw it on lanes that a 4 person league just completed. I could play 21 out to 10 with the Camo Hustle and the Hazmat was unusable for me.  I moved deeper and deeper and still not had a look at the pocket.  I’ll try it on a fresh house shot on Monday.  Maybe take some polish off the Hazmat?  Not saying anything negative about the Hazmat, just need to tame that ball down.

You cant really tame it down.  Overall strength will be the same.  The difference will be the hook shape.  Taking the polish off will only make that ball want to hook sooner.  Your pro shop guy should have talked you away from the Hazmat and pushed you into something else weaker and without the HK22.
