« on: August 16, 2009, 02:24:25 PM »
I'm looking to get a mid priced ball to handle a heavy/longer volume patterns. What are the best choices that are currently available? I'm open to ANY company as long as the price point is not too high. Thanks Everyone!!

For oilier patterns, the Ogre Particle from Visionary is hard to beat, at about $150 or so.

columbia noize . With the resurgence cover it digs threw the oil. If drilled right will have a nice hard arc on the backend

I have one and I would have to second the vote for the OGRE Particle. But I have also seen alot of people do well with the T-road Solid.

The Clutch by AMF, the reviews in BTM do not lie, it is a machine...

Clutch, no question. Probably the most hook for the money.

Another vote for the Clutch, Phil and the boys at 900G could have easily put this ball in their premium line. (and made lots more money!)

Is't the Mega Friction also at a nice price point for how aggressive it is?

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I'm thinking of going with Brunswick, their mid-priced line up looks really nice. I really like the powrkoil 18 coverstocks. I'm interested in the copperhead and the python. I need something for longer and heavier oil patterns. I think the copperhead oob is better suited for this condition. Anyone that has both the copperhead and python share your experiences with me. Thanks again, everyone!!!

Python is NOT for heavier oil or any sort. And it's not a PK 18 coverstock.

The Copperhead can handle medium to medium-heavy oil if you have some hand.

Everyone above made some very good suggestions, since you didn't say or imply HOW heavy an oil you are talking about nor what kind of "hand"/release you have. Those are HUGE variables to leave out of the equation you asked us to solve!

The Copperhead can handle as much oil as most of us see on a regular basis. The PK18 cover is great anywhere from dull to polished, and it's VERY SMOOTH on the lane.
