Best Moment In Bowling
« on: June 01, 2009, 01:29:44 AM »
Mine was to win the Senior British Open last year after bowling for 47 yrs 16yrs in the Seniors you only start having a go at it when your 50 so you dont have to much time to do it. I had to double in the 10th in the last game of the round robin and i felt 150 pair of eyes burning my back, the first ball nearly left a 7pin but a messenger took it out but the next one was so flush it was great and the relief was just wonderful. Iv'e enjoyed bowling all this time and seen so many changes but it has got better as the yrs have gone by. So what is your very best moment in this great game that left you feeling on top of the world.

congrats on winning, for me it wasnt ANYWHERE near as good lol but i bowled a youth tourny in march, 44 ft sport shot. i qualified 8th and we played 2 game best series matchplay. well first match was against a kid who before the match when we were talking to everyone said that he should destroy me. well he missed a four pin the first game, won by 4, and then missed a ten pin last game. i made a 10 pin spare to win by 10 last game and take the series, it was a huge FU to the kid, and it was just great to throw a good shot when i needed it.

Congrats on winning!

My best moment was when I shot my first 300 game 2 years ago.  It was at the bowling alley I grew up going to with my dad, and it was one of my first "money" leagues with my dad.  Once I got up in the 10th, the WHOLE alley stopped to watch, it was something I can't really describe in words.  I hit the first two in the 10th high flush, and the last one was brooklyn that carried  I was so nervous, but the place erupted.  I doubt I'll ever have that many eyes on me again bowling, that many great bowling eyes, but I will never forget it.

Probably winning the handicap division of one of the most prestigious junior tournaments in the NYC Area when I was 12.

Second-place finish in all-events (handicapped, however) in the Alabama State Tournament back around 92 or 93. Missed first by 17 pins.

Congrats on that big win!!

Here there is a tight! First a couple years ago my team finished 3rd in the State.. It was great as I watched one of my teammate shot 290 and another throw the front 10.  I didnt bowl that great but as a team we did great.

And then my 300(hopefully the first of many).  I bowled a late league with 2 of my uncle and my grandfather.  With non of them having a 300 it was a great feeling to have them all backing me as I tried to make it happen.

Great job Supermo. For me it was shooting 300 with my father in attendance. best moment i've ever seen was when my grandpa shot his first 300 at the ripe old age of 65.

Congrats on your great accomplishment!

My best moment was seeing my father shoot his first 300 a couple months back at the age of 60.  He was there for my first one, and it was great, but being there to see his was so much better.

Mine was when I shoot my first 300.My mom was there I was 19 and we bowled the best team with the guy who thought he was the best.My first two were ok but my last strike was bad I dont think I even hit the head pin.The guy on the other team got mad and was yelling that Iam a F-ing lefty and I carry everything, but the best part was when another guy on a seprate team punched in the face (they really didnt like each other)

I don't have any incredible ones but throwing all 3 in the tenth to win by 1 in a highschool match was pretty darn awesome.

Mine was watching my Dad right before he was diagnosed with cancer win the Dutchman Tournament optional singles event.  He had never had a high average, he was always around 170, but for that one day he averaged 230+, shooting his personal high game of 279.  With his handicap added in he set the new handicap record for the tournament in that event.  He didn't bowl much after he got sick and I still miss bowling with him to this day.
