Lonnie Waliczek joins Motiv
« on: December 31, 2014, 08:08:58 PM »
With talk about the other staff changes happening, Motiv announced today on their Facebook page that Lonnie Waliczek is now a staff member.  I remember him most with Brunswick, though I think he had been a free agent for most of his PBA career.  There were shows with him throwing Storm, Columbia 300 and Ebonite in the past.

The part about regional stuff is soo true but also can even be just from city to city.My home center was Brett Spanglers home center when he was a kid and there is a ton of motiv being thrown around here but if you drive about fifteen minutes to Muncie the majority of stuff being thrown up there is. Dv8/Brunswick/Radical because they have staffers from around there. Then if you go to Indy I see more Ebi stuff going down the lanes in my opinion. It's crazy how one or two people can change the landscape of a local bowling community

I'd agree that area sales are two major factors.  First, what the pro shop is aligned with or favorite brand of the pro shop pro.  Second, if there is any regional staffer promoting the brand in their area.  ie. Madison, WI is a Storm town because of riggs being a local resident.  Third and a distant third is what won on Sunday is purchased because of a win on a show.  Any good pro shop guy will not push a certain ball if it doesn't match up to a particular player.

was never a fan of the Human Rain Delay but I give him props for still being able to be out there doing something he loves...

I got stuck behind him in the one PBA regional in which I competed...had done reasonably well in my first few games and then we had to make the turn at the other end of the house and you could set your sundial by him.  It isn't just the telecasts where he has been, umm...deliberate in his pre-shot routines.
