The email from motiv
« on: March 27, 2016, 07:12:37 AM »
I got the email...basically it says we are gonna wait forever ...it says in order to get the replacement form on the website, they have to re do the website....which takes time...THEN,they have to test it. Which will take more time. It's a stall tactic and I understand it from their side and I support them vs the Usbc. But again, it's us, the bowlers that are placed on the inconvenience list.

Yes, it is starting to look like they are buying time.  Hopefully it is based on what they stated and not deciding if they can survive financially is they go forward with the replacement program?  Is Chapter 11, 13 or 7 on the table?  Hope not.

If you support Motiv vs. the USBC then don't ask for a replacement.  That will be the ultimate show if support.  Keep your ball and bowl in unsanctioned leagues and events.

Exactly. My two leagues are going unsanctioned next year, so all is well, I'll be throwing my Carnage all summer and next year.

Can you read? The email said exactly this...nowhere in there fid it say they need to "re do" the website...my interpretation was they are feeling the pressure from customers to start the replacement process so they are working to get it up sooner than anticipated WHILE still fighting the USBC on the issue. Yes, I knkw the form was "expected" to be online the 23rd but they sure jumped the gun in that. They need to make sure that the people that physically have a ball gets it replaced and not the "scammers" trying to grt free stuff.

"Thank you for providing your email address to receive updates regarding the Jackal and Jackal Carnage.  While we will continue to work toward having both reinstated on the USBC list of approved balls, we understand that some people would prefer that we begin the process of exchanging bowling balls immediately.

Please know that we do have a form built to facilitate the exchange, but we must also have our website development company create a software interface that will allow us to track data and manage the entire process.  We are working on this diligently and will have it operational as soon as it has been fully developed and tested.  As soon as it is online, you will receive an email notification.

In the meantime, please hold onto your Jackal and/or Jackal Carnage bowling ball. Do not destroy, discard, or damage the ball in any way.

Thank you very much for your support, patience, and understanding."

"create software interface".....Testing....just like I said ...They basically have to redo the website. By the way...I was in an unsanctioned tournament this morning..Took out the Jackal and I got the sideways looks from a few....In practice the Jackal didnt give the best look so I put it way and used the Vandal. I can see people who will be using the Jackal in non sanctioned events will be looked at as cheating....That my first experience in using it, I'm sure it wont be the last time I get the looks. I'm almost glad it wasnt the right ball for today.

Yep, and even if they're re-certified, you'll get the same look. Ignore them, or, well, you know what to tell them.

EXACTLY, some act like its the end of their bowling season because of one ball. Probably most have 10-15 ball arsenal and are want immediate answers because they can't use this one ball. This isn't something they will recover from overnight if balls are not re-instated and replacements are the answer. This is a business changing event and they (Motiv) need to be allowed time to ensure proper channels are taken. Get over it and move on and allow the parties involved to do there job and come to a resolution.

If you support Motiv vs. the USBC then don't ask for a replacement.  That will be the ultimate show if support.  Keep your ball and bowl in unsanctioned leagues and events.

Motiv might not recover from this...The numbers in losses are a lot more then what was talked about. I heard today from an insider that the losses could be 4 to 5 million. That includes replacements, shipping, manufacturing expenses etc...NOT to include any legal fees. Motiv could do a chapter 11 bankruptcy and reorganize but they will lose most of its customer base. The only way they can win is to get the balls reinstated and to sue the usbc. Neither Motiv or the usbc has that type of cash to lose. Well the usbc might have it because we know they dont spend any of it...

Eh, the email didn't really tell me anything I didn't already know or expect. Of course they're going to need time to implement the systems so the process can actually go smoothly when it starts. That kind of stuff takes time. Coding and developing something like that is no joke. I would rather wait a little bit longer to make sure the claim goes through cleanly than use a rushed program that might/probably end up bugged.

Although I'm probably leaning towards the more patient end of the spectrum here since my plan all along was to get the future (and hopefully legal!) release of a Jackal or whatever it ends up being called. At least if that option is available. If the Carnage gets reinstated that would be great too, that ball would perfectly fit the slot I'm trying to fill in my bag (never got to throw mine).
