« on: April 05, 2005, 12:02:24 AM »
Can anybody tell me which skid-snap ball you think is the best (with high enough hook) Seriously I don't mind the brand of the ball, but prefably to be Brunswick, Track, Storm or Columbia
thx

Storm Track,

Your original link works, but I get a message saying I need Microsoft Office Web Components.  The link there attempts to take me to someone's G drive.  Here is what shows up in the browser window.  Any ideas?

since i have the intense inferno,x-ception, dirty bomb. I would say the dirty bomb has the strongest move of the 3 when it encounters friction. All 3 get there the same, but when they hit the dry the dirty is unreal, the move it makes.I  also agree with BTM that it is very versatile, probably the most out of the bunch.

Sorry this one doesn't fit your request but the Visionary G-3 has to be the snappiest ball I have ever seen or thrown.

as stated b4 it depends on lane conditions and ball speed and revs

but i would reccomnend based on my personal expierence with a few balls...

anything in the pearl reactive category will work  if you drill it for length and backend.......

i would reccomend either the intense inferno, the punisher, red fuze (if u can find one)

Shock and awe...Goes 50ft then left!! Ravage 2 or 3.I'm not Morich bias, just a believer. Morich has Brunswick coverstocks and Mo Pinel cores.Best of both worlds I believe.

For Track I would say the Xception- I've seen this ball in action and its move is very strong off the back. For Storm, a lot of people seem to enjoy the X Factor Ace if you are on medium-heavy conditions, but if you are on medium or medium-light conditions you can choose between a Hot Rod Pro Stock Pearl or the Eraser Banshee. As far as Columbia, don't get the chance to see a lot of their equipment in my area so I can't recommend anything definitively from them. I only own a Panic which has been great when I see medium-light conditions, goes long and the Superflex produces good motion at the back.

Well I can name a few. For medium to lighter conditons, I would go with the eraser banshee. For a little more oil, you could also go with the recharge, intense inferno, xception, yeah baby, backyard bully, and more I can't think of. For heavy oil though, and to my surprise, the XXcel snaps very hard and works great in flood, thouhg not much else...

i have xception and blade solid (as someone mentioned earlier).

xception gets more length and tends to be bit more angular. (on same dry condition)

blade is definitely earlier, but i can see both being fairly skid/snappy.

I was really impressed with the DynoThane Thing Returns...  It seemed to be one of the strongest reacting backend balls I have thrown in quite some time

I, too have medium speed (17mph) and a high rev rate.  I have used alot of balls the past few months.  Balls like the XCeption and the Intense Inferno read the midlane rather well.  Yes, they are angular, but not a true skid snap in the sense if that is what you are looking for.  Balls that may be of interest to you would be the Crash by Track, Zone Classic by Brunswick, and I hear the new Centaur AMB by Visionary is a backend boomer as well.  The Centaur even has a warning label on their website about not expecting the ball to be smooth in any way.  What you have to understand, is that on 40 feet of oil, anything is going to "skid" a long way unless you have a dull finish on a particle ball or just have an ungodly amount of revs on the ball to help create friction in all that oil.  If you are looking for a ball designed to be a true skid snap ball, the Crash or Zone Classic would be my first 2 choices with the Z.C. being the stronger of the 2.
