Best Symmetrical Ball out today
« on: May 06, 2015, 12:05:22 PM »
I know this is a loaded question, but I thought I would throw it out there to see the responses. I have tried a lot of Asyms, but Syms seem to just work better for my game. I have shot my highest scores with a Hy-Road. I have had my best success on heavier patterns with a Darkness and Solaris Requiem. So what is the best Sym out there?

If you like the Hyroad try a Melee Jab.  The Melee Cross is great to blend out wet dry house shots.

Symmetrics have always worked best for me. Right now, my vote goes to the Motiv Rage as the best for me although my Octane is now working really great since changing to the Joe Slowinski Grip which upped my revs for someone having low revs. Just drilled a TAG. Although it appears it is going to be good, it is still too early to rank it yet.

If you have decent ball speed, the Motiv Forza is a great ball. Change the surface to your conditions and it will handle from heavy to light medium. About the one thing it won't do for most bowlers is true light oil or second shift toast.

And it's at a really good price point as well.

IQ TOUR    Best ball ever made in my opinion.  Ball never gets you in any trouble. Smooth as silk.

Anything that uses the Vibe core from Hammer.

I really like the Storm Ride right now. Our house shot doesn't have a lot of oil and I feel like if I drilled another one for a little more length plus roughed up the surface on mine now I'd be set for our leagues

That's a solid point. I don't bowl with Hammer stuff much, but I have all the Vibes(undrilled NIB). I did drill one of the Infrared Vibes and it's a great ball.

For me, it's been my Radical Yeti Untamed(s) since I bowl primarily on tournament shots (and I don't bowl in any leagues).
Ball speed avg. (18.25 mph)
Rev rate avg. (400-428 rpm)

Theres a ton to pick from. Ive primarly used more aggressive asymmetric core balls this year.  When I need something to switch to and not adjust much I go to the LT48.

Super clean up front and when it turns over down lane its scary strong. I just drilled mine a few months ago and its really surprising how strong this ball is down lane.

I would second that on the Vibe core.  It seems to match up with almost any shell.  I also really like my IQ tour.  Only ball in my bag more than a year old. Marvel Pearl has been a great symmetrical for me on the stronger side of the pearl equation.

Hyroad for medium and Marvel Pearl for medium-heavy (if you can get your hands on one as it recently discontinued).
