Title: Best thing for glue removal?
Post by: REvans284 on June 11, 2008, 08:14:07 AM
Hey guys..

I'm resurfacing an old ball for a friend and in the process we were taking the old tape and everything out to start over new and it has some REALLY thick, nasty, sticky glue residue in there...  I've done it the hard way many times over by pulling, wiping, etc. but it takes forever.  Is there a better solution to this I can use from around the house?  Would ball cleaner cut it quick?  I know columbia or someone used to make towlets for this and they were great but I cant find them anymore.

Thanks,

REvans284

I thought alcohol worked for stuff like that.  Put some one a paper towel and run the residue, that should probably do it.

Alcohol doesn't work very well.  I've tried that before.  And yes JB, those are the towlets I was talking about.  Those things are awesome, I may have to get a box because they are so hard to find.

To the dismay of many, those tape residue remover pads are discontinued last I heard.

Regarding the tape residue removers, our distributor said they were discontinued because their shelf life was "suspect" (they would somehow dry out without even being opened).

Anything that's left over may have been around for awhile so buy at your own risk. I have opened some that have been fine, and others that were dried out.
