Darn, you took my cheesy joke line!

I use household cleaner called Simple Green....and you're supposed to clean after each set bowling....

People will say rubbing alcohol, but I've found it merely rubs around the oil, not actually removing it...

the thin green pads on his balls

I'm guessing you mean scotchbrite pads....those don't clean, but keep the cover nice and dull.  You might do that for the smashr, but not the hit.

You can find simple green somewhere like a grocery store, and just spray it on a towel or something (it's in a bottle like windex or something) and rub the ball down.

Just to make sure that's what he has...do the pads look kind of "rough"?

Yeah, just use that on the ball 3-4 weeks to keep it dull, and clean it with the simple green after each set.  That's the way to have optimal life for a bowling ball.

simple green and storm extra clean i think it is , last time i ever buy that storm stuff its like 8 bucks a bottle and i don't see hardly any difference between the 2

im sure everyone knows this already, but another good thing to do is to cut a hole into a box and put a blow dryer in the hole and bake the ball tell all the oil is done bleeding or put it in the trunk when its hot out, i do it like once a month

Dont subjec them to any heat just dont be cheap and buy some good cleaner aske the guy in the pro shop get it resurfaced regularly its really simple but people don't take very good care of there balls like baking and letting them sit in the cars all day in the summer and wonder why there expensive ball doesn't work anymore or gets cracked....

Do NOT use rubbing alcohol!!! DO NOT LISTEN TO SOMEONE WHO SAYS THIS!

A household cleaner like Orange Clean or Simple Green (degreasing cleaner) is fine.....some great everyday cleaners.....Storm's cleaners,....NeoTacs "Liquid Nitro",...Ebonites Energizer Cleaner,....Tracks Clean and Dull, etc, etc....

Micro Fiber towels are great for wiping the ball off between shots (if that's your routine)

Do your everyday cleaning after EVERY set,...INCLUDING practice.....

Deep clean with eihter warm water and dish soap, or a heavier duty cleaner such as NeoTacs Hookit or Renew it (has a polish in it as well) and others....every 2-3 weeks or so depending on how many games you bowl per week....dull up the Smash/R when needed w/ your scotch brite...

My Elixir keeps the oil out of the ball and makes cleaning much easier.

Prolongs the life of the ball as well.
