The funniest thing about that is that he won 2 titles with negative revs

One of the funniest/strangest things I saw on the lanes was this one guy with a really  high backswing lost the ball.  The ball went about 10 feel in the air behind him, landed on top of the ball return cover, bounced, and proceeded to land perfectly on the ball return.  To this day I wish I had a video tape of this.  The next game, he shot 300.

Years ago when the center had above ground ball returns, I was shooting a corner pin.  The ball was heading for the gutter, I turned to walk off the approach.  Everyone was laughing and I was getting annoyed.  I thought they were laughing because I guttered the ball.  Some one pointed to the lane.  I turned and found my ball had bounced out of the gutter, gone across the lane and somehow landed in the ball return and was coming back.  I wish I had actually watched the ball hit the gutter bounce out.

Mine is somewhat like the Princess's story . . . Our center has above ground returns (boo at that) and they have these cameras on top (not sure why). Well, one day, I was doing awful, and I shot at something, I don't remember what, and tossed the ball right into the gutter. Somehow, it hit the camera, bounced out of that gutter, into the other gutter, and picked up the spare. (I think it was like a 9 or 10 pin).

at the old 10 lane house i used to bowl at(closed down), i saw a guy on my dads team have the ball stick on his thumb during release, the ball went straight up in the air, nicked the ceiling, the ball took about 20 seconds to get down the lane, and ended up striking to give my dads team the lead in the game.  he not only fell on the shot, but got up and buried the next two to secure the victory.

Saw a lady throw the ball, it stuck on her thumb.  She lofted it about 6ft in the air and 10-15ft down the lane, it bounced off the lane, hit the gutter cap and then landed in the gutter of the next lane.  She was slightly embarrassed!

A lady on my team went to roll a practice shot.  She stuck and started to fall forward.  Rather than put her hand out to soften the landing, she tucked her head in and literally rolled sort of head over heels onto the lane.  We had to hold back the laughter to ask her if she was okay.  She was, except for her ego being bruised a bit.
