EAGLE IS BWAA BOWLER OF THE MONTH
June 4, 2003 -- Dale Eagle was voted Bowling Writers Association of America Bowler of the Month for May by a select panel of the organization, BWAA President John Falzone announced today.
Eagle, a 57-year-old right-hander from Tavares, Fla., defeated Bob Glass, Lawrence, Kan., 718-550 and 707-654 in the double-elimination championship contest of the American Bowling Congress Senior Masters May 30 in Tucson, Ariz. The victory, Eagle’s eighth Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) Senior Tour title, was his third Senior Tour “major.†He also placed second at the PBA Senior Greater Detroit Open in Belleville, Mich.
This is fourth time in Eagle’s career he has been accorded BWAA’s monthly honor.
Meanwhile, Ron Bahr, Topeka, Kan., who became the first bowler in American Bowling Congress Championships Tournament history to record back-to-back perfect games, was a distant runner-up in the balloting.
Yes! Topeka is finally on the map! I know that guy! I'm gonna see him tomorrow!
