Better for the Dry

Need some choices for dry lanes I bowled on some last weekend where the Strike Kiing was too strong. Torn between Arctic Freeze or Tropical Breeze Hybird even the Scream any other suggestion is also ok really desparate.

If I'm bowling a lot on a really really dry THS, I'd probably go with a Storm Ride.....I have a Breeze that comes to tournaments for some really extreme stuff, and could ball down to.

I'm still throwing an old MoJave for the really dry stuff.  As good a dry lane ball as that is for me personally, the Breeze is still much much weaker.

Good Times this was really extreme I seen 220 maybe better bowlers shooting 140's games.

I have both the Artic Freeze and Tropical Breeze.  The Freeze is a much stronger ball than I expected.

On super fried conditions, hammer's plastic with a core might be a option.  I have the XXXL and use it on conditions when the Breeze is checking up early.

I would wait to see what future conditions are like before purchasing anything new.  This makes me think there were extenuating circumstances that played in the condition.

As someone already said, wait until you learn what is actually needed.

The Strike King may be slightly stronger than a Tropical Breeze Pearl (Th eTB Hybrid is slightly stronger than the Pearl), but the Deep Freeze (Artic Chill is one of the colors) is stronger than both of them. These days the Trop. Breeze Pearl is almost as weak as you can get before you need polished urethane or plastic with a real core.

True the center used cheap oil but was also told that's was the house shot a lot of their bowlers like a bunch of back-ends.

You want weak and still have some hitting power, I really like the look of the Arctic Sniper from Motiv. With a diff of .010, it's not going to flare, and it looks pretty good.

If you are lofting the gutters with a strikeking and its still too much then its time to go to plastic and focus on spares.

If you aren't lofting the gutter,  or close to it then its time to go with plastic.

How is your strike king laid out and at what surface is it at?
Back in the day I had Slingshots drilled 3.5" pin to PAP that on certain dry conditions were hooking just as much as anything in my bag...

Pin up over the middle finger with 1/2 negative side surface was @ 5000 but changed it with worn out 2000 grit I think that was the problem need to change back.

Polish should help you a lot.  When the lanes are dry I also try to focus on decreasing my grip pressure to help feather the ball through the fronts.  Good luck!

One more thing.  There is a difference in "dry" depending on if the shot is worn or short.  If the shot is worn (second shift type shot), then perhaps polish will help get the ball through the burned up heads.  If the shot is short, then scuffing the ball a bit will help it not jerk left at the end of the pattern. 

It all depends on what you are calling "dry".
