Biggest average jump in a year ???
« on: May 19, 2005, 10:01:35 AM »
I came in 192 book from last year and finished my two leagues this year at 209 and 216 ... so, for me, it was 24 pins !!! BTW ... lots more practice time too.
I have to thank Joey Cruz and Sam Highsmith in VA and Jeff Massey in SoCal for thier advise, mentoring, patience and coaching to help me achieve this ... I tried on my own for over a decade and never got over 200.

 And you ???

I went from 139 last year to 184 this year. Averaging 219 in my summer league this year so far, well its only been 6 games, but I guess I can count it.

There is a reason most leagues wait 9-12 games before establishing an average for substitute bowlers.  It's simply a better sampling of games.

My second year of bowling saw an improvement of 18.73 pins, and this year I improved 16.44 pins from there.  Both of those got me most improved on a 24 team league.  Next year I hope to improve at least 10 more pins to get me in the 205 range, which for that house would be pretty good.  2nd and 3rd high average in that league are only in the 210-215 range.  Top average is held by a lefty, so that's not something I feel like competing with.  Especially since his average was as high as 240 this past season.

I am just about to finish my first year of bowling and I made a jump from 130-186. That is a 56 pin increase in average. I also shot a 287 and 722 in leagues last week.

I went fromj 182 to 198 in one year, and 198 to 220 the next. So, that's 38 pins in 2 years. Of course, I'm now down from 220 to 206 in 2 more years...

i went from 175 to 198 in one year mostly because of one thing----practice.

151 last year.  200+ in September of this year, finishing with a 175 average  Although it is quite a jump from last year, I'm still disappointed.

Was 212 last year.  Changed equipment to something that fit my style better and this year I jumped up to 224.

This is the second year for me.  I had a breakthrough about 3 months ago, and I jumped about 40 pins.  We'll see if it holds during next years leagues.
